NOTES FROM THE PRESIDENT
Greetings! It’s been a busy past few weeks. For starters, it was wonderful to see such a great turnout for our DAC Annual Meeting. The Annual Meeting provides a great opportunity for us to review what we’ve done, who we are, and where we’re going as an organization. It was a pleasure to see everyone who joined us for the meeting, and I hope that all who attended appreciated the presentation and discussion of the status of our organization. As we prepared for the annual meeting, we reflected on our many significant organizational changes over the past year. We’ve hired a full-time facilities manager, and an office manager. We successfully negotiated with the city to renew our Rental Hall Permit. Our bylaws were reviewed by committee and significantly updated. We made a large investment into the building, in the form of a major boiler replacement. We had board members who resigned, and our board composition was subsequently restructured so that we can have appropriate rotation of the members’ terms. ...More
